AYE Market uses two distinct layers of "verification," and this page covers only the first — account-level verification, which confirms you control the email address, phone number, or Google account you signed up with. It does not involve a government ID. Document-based identity checks are a separate, deeper process covered in our Identity Verification Policy.
1. Email verification
If you register with an email address, we send a confirmation link or code to that address. Verifying it confirms you control that inbox and lets us reach you for account, payment, and security notices. Some features may be limited until your email is confirmed.
2. Phone verification (SMS/OTP)
If you register or add a phone number, we send a one-time passcode (OTP) by SMS. Entering it confirms you control that phone number, which is also how we or you can regain access to your account if you ever lose your password.
3. Google & Facebook Sign-In
If you sign in with Google or Facebook, your account identity is backed by that account (name, email, and profile photo, only for the method you choose). This counts as a verified sign-in method in the same way as a confirmed email or phone number.
4. What "verified" means at the account level
An account-level verification confirms one thing: you can be reached at the contact method you registered with, and that method isn't shared with anyone else at the moment of verification. It does not confirm your legal name, your age beyond your own declaration, or that a government document backs your identity. For that stronger signal — the kind buyers look for before a high-value purchase, or that employers rely on before viewing CVs — see the Identity Verification Policy and its distinct Verified badge.
5. Keeping your codes and links safe
6. Losing access & re-verification
If you lose access to your registered email or phone number, contact us at ayetechub@gmail.com from any reachable address, describe your situation, and our team will work with you to re-verify your identity and restore access through an alternative method.
7. False or misleading account information
Registering with information that isn't genuinely yours, or repeatedly cycling through contact methods to evade a suspension, is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in enforcement action under our Account Suspension & Termination Policy.
8. Governing law
This Account Verification Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our sign-in and verification methods evolve. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
