Seller Policy

What we expect from anyone listing an item, a service, or a job on AYE Market.

Last updated: July 17, 2026 ยท Version 1.0

This Seller Policy applies to every account that posts a listing on AYE Market โ€” whether you're clearing out a phone in your Buyer role, running a shop under a Business account, or posting a genuine job opening as an Employer. It works alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines; where this policy gives sellers more specific rules, those rules apply in addition to, not instead of, the Terms.

1. Who this applies to

AYE Market uses one multi-role account system โ€” Buyer, Seller, Job Seeker, and Employer roles all live under a single account, toggled on as you need them. This policy applies to you whenever you post a listing, regardless of which role toggles you have active, and regardless of whether you list occasionally or run a registered business through the app.

2. What you can list

You may list anything you legally own, legally control, or have the right to sell or advertise, placed in the category it actually belongs to. AYE Market currently supports 22 categories: Vehicles, Property, Jobs, Jobs Wanted, Electronics, Phones & Tablets, Computers, Home & Furniture, Fashion, Beauty, Services, Agriculture, Industrial Equipment, Education, Sports, Animals, Baby Products, Health, Food, Business, Construction, and Legal & Justice, plus Lost & Found for non-commercial recovery posts. Job postings must describe a genuine, currently available opening; Jobs Wanted posts must describe your own genuine availability for work. Items and services prohibited under the Community Guidelines may never be listed in any category.

3. Listing accuracy

4. Honoring advertised terms

Once a buyer contacts you in good-faith reliance on the price, condition, or availability you advertised, honor those terms for that transaction. If circumstances genuinely change โ€” another buyer already collected the item, the price needs to move โ€” say so plainly and promptly rather than letting a buyer show up to a bait-and-switch. Repeatedly advertising terms you have no intention of honoring is treated as a misleading-listing violation under the Community Guidelines.

5. One listing per item

Post each item, service, or job opening once, in the single category it best fits. Do not cross-post the same item into multiple categories, republish an identical listing to push it back up a feed, or create near-duplicate listings to occupy more search results. Use My Listings โ†’ Duplicate only to speed up creating a listing for a genuinely different item, never to multiply the same one.

6. Marking items Sold

Once a transaction is complete, mark the listing Sold from My Listings rather than leaving it live to attract buyers you can no longer serve. You can also Pause a listing that's temporarily unavailable, or Archive one you're no longer offering. Leaving completed sales live and continuing to field messages about them is treated as a listing-accuracy violation if it happens repeatedly.

7. Business accounts & verification

Sellers who operate as a registered business may list under a Business profile and are encouraged to complete ID verification. Verification accepts a Fayda ID, Kebele Residence ID, Driver's License, Business License, or Passport, submitted in-app and reviewed by a human moderator; approved accounts display a verified badge visible to buyers. Verification does not exempt a business account from any rule in this policy or the Community Guidelines โ€” it raises trust, it does not raise privileges.

8. Seller Dashboard

The Seller Dashboard gives you view counts, favorite counts, and sold counts per listing so you can gauge interest and pricing. My Listings lets you publish, edit, pause, mark sold, archive, duplicate, or delete each listing at any time. Drafts you start but don't finish are auto-saved so you can pick them up later โ€” an unfinished draft is not a public listing and isn't subject to the moderation or reporting rules that apply once you publish.

9. Prohibited seller conduct

10. Enforcement

Violations are handled proportionately: a first minor issue (wrong category, incomplete details) typically gets the listing corrected or removed with guidance. Repeated or more serious violations โ€” duplicate spam, misleading pricing, prohibited items โ€” escalate to a formal warning, then a temporary suspension, then permanent account suspension for continued or severe abuse. Fraud, scams, and content endangering minors result in immediate suspension. See the full enforcement ladder in our Community Guidelines.

11. Reporting a seller

Buyers can report a listing or your seller profile directly from the app, choosing from eight reasons (Scam/Fraud, Fake Listings, Spam, Harassment, Offensive Content, Selling Prohibited Items, Impersonation, Other) โ€” see our Reporting & Moderation Policy for how that review works. If you believe a report or enforcement action against you was made in error, contact us to appeal.

12. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and forms part of the agreement described in our Terms of Service.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as AYE Market's seller tools evolve. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and version above.
